Large or small, if it's real and local, we'll list it. Markets offering organic or sustainably grown produce are identified by the words "organic" and/or "sustainable" in Green, next to their name. If they have a website, the name will be in blue and underlined; click on it and it will open their website.

April brings with it cold weather winter crops, like kale, spinach, some lettuces, peas, kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, leeks and early onions, and from southern areas, like Florida and southern Texas, strawberries, oranges, sumatras, grapefruit.

A true farmer's market is one where more than one farmer shows up with his bulk produce to sell direct to the consumer! They're rare these days and many grocery stores are labeling themselves as "farmer's markets" and simply masquerading!) Here's the real list of farmer's markets in Colorado.     941 Main Street, Limon, CO 80828. Email: [email protected]. Open: The Market has a target date of June 9th 2010. Wednesdays. The building will accommodate 30 Vendors very comfortably , leaving ample space for pedestrian traffic. We have two (2) public restrooms. The John Wayne Parking Lot provides an open air exposure to traffic on Main/highway 24. E-Avenue leads to City Hall through the Business District. The Limon Community Farmer's Market is located in the middle of the High Plains of Colorado. The towns include an area of 65 to 75 Miles, that are cumulative in population. Off street parking at the back of the property, including side streets make the location easy to approach. (ADDED: March 20, 2010)

    A visitor writes on October 17, 2008: "i love their farm, they have an 8 acre garden in their backyard, they also get alot of produce from other local growers, They work DIRECTLY with an orchard owner, and they sell the most delicious peaches you have ever had. they pick their produce and take it to the Farmer's Market. they are well respected by the community, and often donate produce to benefit the people. they sell Tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, lettuce, watermelon, cantaloupe, greenbeans, squash, pumpkins, gourds, Palisade Peaches, apples, peppers, Roasted Chiles, dill, red beets, carrots, celery. they got to the Sterling (colo)Wal-mart parking lot, satudays: 8am-6pm Tuesdays: 5:30pm-7pm they also go to the fairgrounds at Akron (colo) mondays:6pm-8pm, they are finally at the courthouse Sidney(nebr) Saturdays:8am-1pm. they also attend the Sterling (colo) sugarbeet days, and the Sidney(nebr) oktoberfest. they are a strong proud buisness that has grown fron a card table to 8 tables FULL of stuff, and stuff on the ground(in baskets of course)in 21 YEARS " (Suggested by a visitor, ADDED: October 18, 2008)
