March brings with it cold weather winter crops, like kale, spinach, some lettuces, peas, kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, leeks and early onions, and from southern areas, like Florida and southern Texas, strawberries, oranges, sumatras, grapefruit.

Shadowood is 2.2 miles west of the Stuart Turnpike entrance, immediately on Highway 714, on the south side of the street. On the days we are open to the public, there will be a light blue flag on the mailbox. No flag or no appointment means no entry! Blue flag= open to the public. No flag= closed to the public.
    Where Local Meets Organic: a USDA Certified Organic agroforestry farm growing crops for the Martin County community in Palm City, FL. Along with selling certified organic produce, the farm offers educational workshops and is available for event rentals. In 2010 Shadowood Farm was converted from a retail garden center into an organic food garden. Here at the farm we do a variety of things. This ten acre, solar powered, agroforestry farm began growing organic vegetables and fruits in 2010. Prior to 2010, we spent over two decades growing Native plants.
