Established in 2010 with only 20 vendors, it is now one of the largest markets in Lee County with 50 vendors. Local Roots, LLC, owners of the market has teamed up with the Lakes Park Enrichment Foundation to help raise money and awareness for their future Botanical Garden. We invite shoppers to stay and eat breakfast or lunch at a picnic table while listening to live music each Wednesday enjoying one of the most beautiful parks in Lee County. The River District Farmers Market is the oldest Farmers Market in Lee County. Originally named the Downtown Farmers Market, The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) organized the River District Farmers Market in 1994 to provide convenient and inexpensive market facilities for area vendors to sell their products directly to customers at reasonable prices.
