What's in season in October 2023, and other timely information:
October brings with it cold weather winter crops, like kale, spinach,
some lettuces, peas, kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower,
leeks and early onions,
and from southern areas, like Florida and southern Texas,
strawberries, oranges, sumatras, grapefruit.

Shreveport Farmers' Market - Wide variety of seasonal
fruits and vegetables, Some vendors also offer CSA and PYO

There's an ATM on site so debit/credit cards will be options,
otherwise, cash is good. Several but not ALL of the vendors
accept WIC or senior food vouchers. Several vendors are organic,
home-grown, or small-farm/family operations. Products range from
raw produce to finished products, canned, dried,
add-water-soup-kits, cheeses, breads, cakes, leather, cloth or
other craft-wares, soaps, gifts, etc. There are always several
vendors offering food, snacks, drinks to consume on-site under a
couple different covered areas with tables/benches. Live music

September 03, 2012: "I really enjoyed every Saturday I went.
Vendors occupy no less than 2 and as many as 4 covered
pavillions depending on the Saturday. I never made it to the
Tuesday evening markets so I can't comment on those. I look
forward to the fall markets. I hope to be able to tour at least
one of the farms someday--I think a couple of them offer tours,
CSA, and/or PYO.. Not sure if we have any Arkansas or Oklahoma
farmers. If I manage to try one in particular I'll let you
