What's in season in February 2025, and other timely information:
February brings with it cold weather winter crops, like kale, spinach,
some lettuces, peas, kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower,
leeks and early onions,
and from southern areas, like Florida and southern Texas,
strawberries, oranges, sumatras, grapefruit.

contest. Featured in July 2015 Mississippi Magazine as a favorite market
statewide. The Hernando Farmers Market is located on the quaint
historic Town Square and is open each Saturday from Mid April through the end of
October. The market features, locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as
fresh local milk, yogurt, ice cream (all made with Brown Dairy Farms milk) beef
and pork, eggs, local honey, canned and preserved items, knife sharpening,
natural soaps and lotions, nursery plants, baked goods, cut flowers, seasoned
wood, herbs, fresh salsa, guacamole, hummus and more. Stop by the outdoor cafe
and enjoy a freshly brewed coffee and baked goods including Gluten-Free
varieties or stop by at 9:00 am for a free fitness segment with our Fit & Fresh
instructors. Throughout the season, enjoy live music and special events
that will take place during market hours. As a Mississippi Certified Market,
designated by the Department of Agriculture and Commerce, you can be assured of
fresh local food and products. In May: SNAP/EBT can be redeemed at the
farmers market table for tokens to be used at vendor booths. The Hernando
Farmers Market will double SNAP transactions up to $10 per transaction with
