March brings with it cold weather winter crops, like kale, spinach, some lettuces, peas, kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, leeks and early onions, and from southern areas, like Florida and southern Texas, strawberries, oranges, sumatras, grapefruit.

Green Cobnuts have a unique taste, often compared to fresh Coconut, by the middle to end of September they turn GOLDEN and become sweet as the starch turns to sugar. Golden Cobnuts are supplied without husks, there are approx. 25% more nuts in a kilo of Golden Cobnuts, which explains the higher price. (UPDATED: 03 April 2016, JBS)

Our main crop is English apples; we currently grow Gala, Cox, Windsor and Bramley apples. We also grow several varieties of delicious English cherries and sell them from our pop up summer fruit stall at Pierce Mill Farm. It is situated in our cherry orchard on the corner of Pierce Mill Lane. In the autumn and winter we supply and deliver locally quality seasoned apple and mixed wood logs. Award-winning farm shop, delicatessen and restaurant in reconstructed ancient timber barns arranged around gravel courtyard. Toilets, wild flower meadow and walks. Every year we grow a 5 acre maze in a field of maize to explore during the summer holidays! We no longer have strawberry picking available but our apple harvest (August to October*) is bountiful and makes a great day out for the whole family. We grow eight different varieties of apple: Cox, Bramley, Crispin, Gala, Spartan, Zari, Jonagold, Braeburn. Restaurant, Private Hire & Events, Animals: walk through our orchards and look out for our animals, including Donkeys, Rabbits, Shetland Ponies, Wildfowl at our Reservoir and our herd of Alpacas along the way.
