December brings with it cold weather winter crops, like kale, spinach,
some lettuces, peas, kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower,
leeks and early onions,
and from southern areas, like Florida and southern Texas,

Our Farm Shop
has an abundance of locally sourced produce and tasty treats for
you to choose from. Our daily essentials are all delivered fresh
every morning and from within a fifteen mile radius of our
store. These include free range eggs, freshly baked bread from
the Village Bakery and milk from Tomlinson’s Dairy. We are
pleased to be able to offer our customers a range of goods from
suppliers such as Siwgr a Sbeis and their temping cake
selection, local beer and ales from Llangollen Brewery, Erddig
Brewery and Wrexham Lager, a selection of frozen meals from
Cooks, a range of jams and chutneys from Mrs Darlington’s and
Cottage Delight, delicious puddings from Cartmel and fresh
olives from Olives et Al to name but a few. We are proud to
stock our home grown fruits and vegetables grown right here on
our farm. Cabbages, potatoes, onions, cauliflowers, carrots,
broccoli, rhubarb, strawberries and asparagus are just some of
the items that we offer during their season in our Farm Shop.
All home grown items are picked that very morning and go from
field to shop within half an hour with zero food miles, you just

during summer and early autumn (June to October), if the weather
has been good to us, our orchards and fields are abundant with
beautiful fruit. This is when we invite you to come in and
pick-your-own: a lovely family activity, and a great value way
of buying nutritious fresh fruit. First up, we have rows of
gooseberries, redcurrants and blackcurrants. Later on, you will
find English apples, pears and plums, both for eating and
cooking, and of course our famous Hawarden Estate Pumpkins. Pick
up a pot or punnet at the Farm Shop, and then come back for
weighing. Over the summer at our Smoke Shack we have our
barbecue fired up with delicious wood-fired street food; we also

small cookery and gardening school for children We will run
Sticky Fingers cookery classes and Green Fingers gardening
classes on Saturday mornings and after school on Thursdays
during term time, as well as additional school holidays clubs.
The Pumpkin Patch is an excellent opportunity for children to
learn some basic, simple and safe kitchen and gardening skills.
Sticky Fingers and Green Fingers workshops will teach children
of all abilities in a fun and educational way. The lifestyle
skills gained at a young age will enable children to try for
themselves and experiment in years to come. The Pumpkin Patch

be Food stalls, Food & drink supplied by The Roost & Fablas, Pizzas, burgers, ribs, soup, baked potatoes and other refreshments. Hot drinks,
soft drinks, Welsh beer, Welsh cider & mulled wine Weekend & Half term activities (Postponed until next year due to covid19 - although the
nocturnal animals will still be hiding!) Can you find our nocturnal animals in the pumpkin patch? Tractor ride* (£1) (weather dependent).
