on September 05, 2009: "The farm still sells eggs, it just
doesn't have the chickens on site for the children to gather
from the nests. Their next door farm neighbor now provides the
chickens. They do have great, docile cows that enjoy people and
are gentle with the kids. My 2 and 7 year old loved them!

Comments from a visitor on September 23, 2010:
"Hello. I saw that you have a list of farmers market's and
farms, as well as fruit stands. I went through them and saw the
one I go to is not on the list. I live in Williamsburg, VA. The
fruit/vegetable stand sells only in season items, from their
farm. Right now they have the most amazing pumpkins, apples,
squashes and potatoes! I actually used their pumpkins and your
recipe to make a wonderful pie! It's called 'Smitty's Produce',
and it's a decent sized stand right outside of their house under
tents, but it has amazing stuff. It's right on Centerville road.
Coming from the outlet malls, it's on your right hand side,
before you get to the school. They are usually open from 8 am -
4 pm on weekdays, and as most stands, closed for the winter but
open in spring through fall. They're stuff is so good, even
though I work at Walmart, I buy ALL my produce and fruits from
them instead of where I work everyday."

earliest days of the Commonwealth and our City. The native
Powhatan peoples met to trade in the immediate vicinity of the
Market at Shockoe Rock, a large rock at the confluence of
Shockoe Creek and the James River. The Market continued as a
major trade center and its current location served as the City's
official farmers market starting in 1736 making it the oldest
continuously operational farmers market in Virginia, and quite
possibly the United States. (ADDED: December 29, 2016)
